520 | $aThis work describes a method for investigating the effects on air quality in terms of airborne particulate concentration, after the adoption of energy-saving measures in the ventilation system, at two welding workshops, well as the effects. The method is based on the use of the iron level in the air as a tracer for the dust level. The results of the study show that the described method is usable for investigations of this kind. The anticipated level of energy-saving may be obtained by the suggested modifications of the ventilation, without any decrease in work-room air quality, in terms of the iron and dust levels | ||
