<subfield code="a">Respirator cartridges are often tested using very low concentrations of heavily absorbed compounds. It is suggested here, as an alternative, to use a high concentration of a very lightly adsorbed material. In particular, this paper suggests that argon adsorption and/or desorption can be applied as a rapid, nondestructive field test for the adsorptive capacity of respirator cartridges</subfield>
