Sumario: As a result of experiments involving scanning electron micrograph (SEM) analysis of low-temperature ashed filters Method 7402 was revised to clarify these issues. Because Method 7402 is used to provide the fraction of optically visible asbestos fibers in a sample, the previously recommended low-temperature ashing step may cause an overestimate of the asbestos fraction
