<abstract>El proceso de globalización abre un panorama de posibilidades favorables pero, al mismo tiempo, plantea problemas nuevos y encierra peligros, como la creciente desigualdad tanto entre países como dentro de ellos. Uno de los retos económicos actuales es el de cómo elevar la capacidad productiva y la renta de la quinta parte de la población mundial que vive en estado de pobreza absoluta. En este artículo se analizan las actuaciones ante la crisis y el subdesarrollo de la OMC, el FMI,y el BM, entre otros organismos internacionales, y se proponen posibles vías para hacer frente a estos problemas</abstract>
