<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En 2019, con anterioridad a la profunda recesión provocada por la pandemia, la economía española se encontraba en una senda de desaceleración gradual, situación que se estaba trasladando al crecimiento del sector asegurador. Así, el crecimiento económico en ese año fue del 2% (2,4% en 2018), mientras que las primas de seguros totales experimentaron un retroceso del -0,4%, frente al crecimiento del 1,5% del año previo (véase la Gráfica 1). El volumen de primas en 2019 fue de 64,5 millardos de euros, representando un 5,15% del PIB en ese año (frente al 5,33% del PIB de 2018)</abstract>
