<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Lo que hoy se conoce como gerencia de riesgos comenzó a implantarse en El Corte Inglés en el año 1970. Con anterioridad ya existían en la empresa unas funciones similares que se aplicaban con unas directrices distintas. Así todo lo que se refería a instalaciones de prevención y seguridad se llevaban por mediación de la División de Construcciones, en tanto que las coberturas de los riesgos dependían de Asesoría Jurídica. A partir de 1970 ambas funciones quedaron incorporadas a una misma dirección</abstract>
