<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Se describe la evolución y características del proceso de internacionalización de los servicios provistos por empresas de consultoría e ingeniería españolas, que se ha producido especialmente en los últimos quince años. Los datos utilizados se han obtenido mediante entrevistas personales a un conjunto significativo de empresas españolas del sector. El afán por una mayor diversificación del riesgo en las actividades de las empresas de ingeniería y el temor a una reducción en el crecimiento del mercado español son características esenciales del proceso, así como el pequeño tamaño empresarial, subsanado mediante la especialización y la búsqueda de nichos de mercado</abstract>
