<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La evolución seguida por MAPFRE, desde sus inicios como Mutualidad, muestra un proceso de transformación institucional en el que la flexibilidad ha constituido un eje favorecedor del óptimo aprovechamiento de las oportunidades de crecimiento y expansión doméstica e internacional. La red de filiales, la Corporación y la FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE, junto a la red externa de la empresa, conforman un verdadero sistema empresarial. El proceso de desarrollo del Sistema ha estado marcado por los principios fundacionales que, en una lógica evolución y adaptación, sustentan la gestión, el gobierno y el control directivo de la empresa y de su Fundación. La conjunción de sus principios y valores con los diferentes grupos de interés vinculados a su actividad económica y financiera determina una matriz de responsabilidad empresarial. La relevancia otorgada a la lengua funcional, la gestión de los expatriados y el buen gobierno corporativo y de sus filiales son singularidades de esta empresa</abstract>
