<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La energía nuclear es la fuente de energía que más horas funciona al año. En 2015, los ocho reactores operativos en España sumaron 7.729 horas de funcionamiento, el 88,23% del total, aportación que hoy por hoy no es equiparable con otras tecnologías. Con un consumo eléctrico que vuelve a estar en alza en nuestro país, parece razonable contar con todas las fuentes de producción eléctrica de las que disponemos en la cesta energética. Es en este horizonte donde la opinión pública afronta un debate de vital importancia: si es realmente la energía nuclear una alternativa barata, disponible y sostenible y cuál es su aportación a la economía española</abstract>
