Les groupes de recherche & développement se structurent au sein de la profession et cogitent. Pourtant, tout reste a inventer. Jusqu'a maintenant, peu de personnes maitrisent cette technologie au sein des entreprises matures (d'où l'importance de se rapprocher de start-up ciblées), et surtout aucun modèle économique en lien avec l'assurance n'est au point. L'heure est a la formation et a l'exploration. À l'image des chercheurs d'or, la blockchain fait briller les yeux des assureurs. Las companies multiplient les recherches, y compris aux côtes de leurs concurrents, pour tenter de trouver des applications à cette technologie.
