<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En este trabajo se analiza a la Federación Española de Sindicatos de Iniciativa y Turismo (FESIT) , desde sus inicios hasta 1959. Esta Asociación aglutinaba a nivel nacional a muchos de los Sindicatos de Iniciativa y Turismo (SIt) existentes en España. Se constituyó en 1932 y trabajó sin descanso hasta 1936. Durante la Guerra Civil española cesa en su actividad, reunificándose en 1942, continuando con su labor hasta la década de los ochenta. Nos adentraremos en ella, conoceremos sus orígenes, sus miembros, sus asambleas, su financiación y el reconocimiento que se le dio desde los poderes públicos. Los trabajos de la Fesit nos muestran la realidad turística española desde una nueva perspectiva, y nos ponen de manifiesto hasta qué punto sus opiniones pudieron influir en las decisiones políticas que se tomaron sobre el sector turístico. </abstract>
