<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The world is changing. Technology and data analytics are disrupting traditional business models. The industry needs to react to these rapidly evolving business and risk environments so we can continue to provide customers with the support and protection they need to grow and prosper. This means accelerating the development of products and services to meet customers' needs, and creating new business models that support their delivery. This study analyses one technology - smart contracts, that translate written contracts into computer code - that insurers could use to improve efficiency and add value for customers.</abstract>
