<abstract displayLabel="Summary">No fewer than one in five people aged 5064 is a carer. Though most provide no more than nine hours of caring a week, there are 1.4 million people who provide 50 or more hours a week. With these sorts of numbers it is unsurprising that over the past two years, nearly half a million people around 600 every day have had to give up work to care.</abstract>
