Sumario: In the three years since the third edition of our Megatrends report, the world has undergone major upheaval, most notably the Covid-19 pandemic and more recently the Russia-Ukraine war. Despite this, our megatrends have continued to play out; in fact, many were accelerated. Technological advancements have been fast tracked, driven by the need for increased virtual interactions and e-commerce during Covid-related lockdowns. Supply chain shifts have become embedded, due to the lingering disruption of the pandemic. More recently, the Russia-Ukraine war has heightened energy and food security considerations and reinforced the drivers of the low carbon energy transition and supply chain shifts. With the latest edition of the report, we have taken a blank slate approach, advancing our outlook for the coming decades, accounting for recent structural shifts in the global environment and reviewing our previously identified megatrends and how they are evolving and accelerating
