<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Open finance, if designed with the right framework, has the potential to positively impact both consumers and insurers. However, the way the European Commission's FIDA proposal is currently drafted, its socio-economic costs do not match its benefits. For the FIDA proposal to be a success, a balance must be found between costs, benefits and risks. In this respect, the draft Regulation is only partially successful. To ensure that its potential can truly be achieved, Insurance Europe would like to share the following observations and suggestions on the Commission's proposal</abstract>
