<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Cuando a principios de los años setenta la prevención comenzaba a abrirse camino real en los servicios contra incendios pocos le auguraban un crecimiento tan espectacular y tan sólido como el que ha tenido dentro de una estructura como la de bomberos, que tradicionalmente era únicamente operativa. En aquellos tiempos no parecía tan evidente para muchos que si se querían reducir los incendios y sus terribles consecuencias no había otro camino que avanzar decididamente en las actuaciones que impidieran que el incendio se materializara o se propagara.</abstract>
