<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En el presente artículo los autores analizan el funcionamiento y posibles reformas del mercado de trabajo español de cara a la integración de nuestro país en la unión económica y monetaria europea; y lo hacen organizando su trabajo en tres grandes bloques: primero, repasan la evolución reciente y la situación actual de nuestro mercado de trabajo, comparándolo con los de otros países comunitarios; apuntan luego un modelo teórico del mercado de trabajo que les permite identificar una serie de aspectos institucionales de éste que son relevantes para su funcionamiento, y cuya reforma podría ser conveniente; ponen más tarde en relación las conclusiones de este modelo con la evidencia existente sobre el funcionamiento del mercado de trabajo español</abstract>
