<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Résultat d'une enquête épidémiologique menée en RFA auprès de 1.221 sondeurs à l'arc, exposés au chrome et au nickel, et 1.694 tourneurs, constituant le groupe témoin. L'étude a pris en compte le tabagisme et la durée d'exposition. Les comparaisons, tant avec le groupe témoin qu'avec la population masculine de la RFA, font apparaître un risque accru de cancer chez les soudeurs. L'anlyse en fonction des techniques de soudage montre une augmentation du risque de cancer chez les soudeurs utilisant des électrodes enrobées par rapport aux soudeurs utilisant d'autres techniques. Cependant, compte tenu de la faible taille des cohortes étudiées, aucune précision ne peut être donnée sur la localisation des cancers et sur la part de risque spécifique au nickel. Des études portant sur des cohortes plus importantes pendant des périodes plus longues seraient nécessaires</abstract>
