<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Recently Italian mortality data have been experimentally linked with census data to describe socioeconomic differentials in mortality. This has provided the opportunity of comparing the cancer risk among farmers in a Nordic country and in a Mediterranean country. Both the lifestyle of farmers and the agricultural activities show important differences between these countries and the comparison can thus provide further insight into the peculiar cancer risk profile of farmers</abstract>
