Sumario: In the present study of sleep patterns among shiftworkers in the oil industry, environmental effects associated with onshore versus offshore work, and individual differences (age, previous exposure to shiftwork, and neuroticism) are the main focus of interest. Relevant findings from shiftwork research are outlined belos, with particular reference to the outcome variables, sleep duration and quality, used in the present study
