As that date approaches, however, some countries have found compliance easy - while others find ists demands difficult to meet. It was designed to break down trade barriers that existed between different European countries, where, in the past, different safety rules have applied. According to the European Commission, that harmonization of standards across the EU would make trading a lot easier and ensure higher standards of machinery safety in the process</dc:description>
