Sumario: The objective of the study was to examine the total mechanical work produced, both the internal work done by the segments to move through the motion patterns and the external work required to move the patient transfer. The task of pulling and turning a patient in bed using a piqué has been identified as potentially risky for female nursing aides and evaluated in terms of its loads on the spine
