MAP20071020781Sullivan, Patrick J.Determination of clothing microenvironment volume / Patrick J. Sullivan, Igor B. Mekjavic and Naoshi KakitsubaSumario: The present study identifies some problems with the application of the Crockford and Rosenblum technique and proposes and improved method, enabling faster and more objective determinations of microenvironment volume. As a practical demonstration, the new method was used to determine microenvironment volume of four different types of helicopter pilot suits. These suits were designed primarly to provide thermal protection in the event of sudden cold water immersion, but may result in thermal stress for the wearer during normal use. Simple tests, such as assessment of microenvironment volume may aid in the choice of design and construction of such protective clothing assembliesEn: Ergonomics. - London [etc.]. - Vol. 30, nº 7, July 1987 ; p. 1043-10521.
