<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La Ronda Uruguay del GATT implica necesariamente un cambio en las políticasa agrarias que los países implimentan para proteger su agricultura. En este nuevo marco institucional, el gobierno central español tiene competencias para elaborar políticas tendentes a hacer más competitivo nuestro sector agroalimentario, seriamente amenazado por la competencia intra y extra comunitaria. Los acuerdos del GATT admiten la concesión de ayudas para mejorar y hacer más viables las explotaciones y la regulación de la coordinación de los sectores con objeto de hacer más transparentes los mercados, mejorar la calidad y promover los productos. Esto es lo que pretenden el proyecto de Ley de Modernización de las Explotaciones y el proyecto de Ley de Organizaciones Interprofesionales Agroalimentarias respectivamente. Su valoración global es positiva aunque se plantean algunos interrogantes acerca de su capacidad para alcanzar los objetivos perseguidos</abstract>
