Sumario: During the winter in northern countries snow clearing is a common and necessary form of physical work. The purpose of the present study was to quantify the energy demands of manual snow clearing following a heavy snowfall. A comparison was made between shovelling and using a snow pusher. In Scandinavia, snow pushers are generally used to clear wide areas, whereas narrower spaces are cleared with a shovel
