<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The aim of the present research was to redress this omission and to determine the effect of the slope on the gait parameters of urban pedestrians walking on inclined surfaces and thereby provide reference data with which laboratory results can be compared. The gait characteristics analysed were walking speed, cadence and step length, all useful and important parameters for describing the human walking mechanism, although only two of them are independent</abstract>
