<abstract>La Agencia de Protección de Datos recaudó en el pasado año 1998 un total de 957 millones de pesetas de las sanciones que impuso a 126 empresas y organismos públicos que hicieron un uso fraudulento de los datos que poseen de los ciudadanos. Éste organismo, que se encarga de vigilar el recto cumplimiento de la normativa vigente en este área de actuación, presentó su Memoria el pasado año.</abstract>
