In 1990 Slovic et al. published a small study of the impact of risk comparison on citizens playing the role of members of a hypothetical asbestos trial jury. The comparison reduced judged risk and guilt of the defendant, an asbestos installing company. This article reports on an experimental replication and extension of the Slovic et al. study
