<abstract>Este artículo evalua el intenso camino recorrido por España desde su integración en 1986 en la entonces Comunidad Europea, destacando los cambios en le sistema económico y en las pautas de comportamiento de la sociedad española. La integración comunitaria ha favorecido al desarrollo económico español y su convergencia con la UE, aunque siguen persistiendo notables distancias en ámbitos muy relevantes</abstract>
