<abstract>El presente trabajo analiza la evolución de las inversiones directas en el exterior (IDE) realizadas por las empresas admitidas a cotización oficial en la Bolsa de Madrid en el período comprendido entre 1988 y 2003. Mediante el estudio de una base, en la que se recogen 712 IDEs se analiza su evolución temporal, su distribución geográfica y sectorial, así como las diferentes fórmulas de inversión elegidas por las empresas españolas, tanto en lo que a estructura de propiedad de la inversión, como a fórmula de implantación en el mercado receptor se refiere</abstract>
