<abstract>La protección de los jóvenes en el trabajo está contemplada en las legislaciones nacionales, que a su vez dimanan de la normativa de la Unión Europea. Dichas normas incluyen, en especial para los menores de 18 años, exigencias adicionales que tienen en cuenta sus riesgos específicos. Sin embargo, las estadísticas europeas señalan que la tasa de siniestralidad laboral entre los jóvenes de entre 18 y 24 años en un 50% superior a la de cualquier otra franja de edad</abstract>
