<abstract>Se analizan las causas económicas de la variación temporal en la liquidez del mercado español en el período 1990-2004. Los resultados obtenidos indican que las fluctuaciones en la liquidez reciben una influencia directa de las variaciones en el diferencial de insolvencia financiera y en la rentabilidad de mercado e indirecta del resto de variables económicas consideradas</abstract>
