<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: In contrast to earlier studies, which focused on liability law and procedure and the awards resulting therenfrom, this study includes benefits from other sources, notably social security and private first-party insurance. The study describes the rules and mechanisms by which the different sources of compensation are linked and coordinated, notably rules on loss reduction, limitation of benefits, and subrogation. The study demostrates the practical effects of the rules and procedures of 6 European countries by going through the process of allocating and calculating the applicable compensation for 15 accident and injury situations</dc:description>
