<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Desde 2008, la banca ha restringido el crédito para gestionar la disminución de la liquidez y el deterioro de la solvencia y las empresas han acudido a los mercados de deuda directamente. Muchas empresas tienen ahora mejor calificación crediticia que los Estados en donde se ubican y frecuentemente mejor calidad crediticia que algunos de los bancos que antes les prestaban. En España, este proceso ha sido especialmente intenso y, hasta 2011, se ha producido desaceleración en el crecimiento del crédito, pero no reducción en su volumen. Las empresas españolas han acudido con intensidad a los mercados pero se enfrentan a un exigente calendario de vencimientos hasta 2016 y el coste de emitir se ha ampliado sustancialmente.</abstract>
