<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Se ha iniciado el camino hacia el reconocimiento internacional de códigos y guías en materia de lucha contra incendios. El enfoque prestacional se orienta cada vez más hacia documentos y métodos de cálculo y validación aceptados por los países más avanzados en este campo. Algunas experiencias, supuestamente pioneras, han servido incluso para que otros países las cuestionen y las perfeccionen. Es el caso de Noruega, que ha concedido a sus ingenieros del Diseño Basado en Prestaciones (DBP) un nivel de libertad tan amplio que, en opinión de algunos, ha ocasionado problemas, lo que ha motivado que otros países introduzcan en esa filosofía un cambio de orientación </abstract>
