<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En el año 2012 se produjeron en España cerca de 1,8 millones de accidentes leves de tráfico (1.777.184), lo que comúnmente se conoce como golpes de chapa. Esto representa una reducción del 6,9 % respecto al año anterior (130.736 accidentes leves menos). La causa principal de esta reducción es la menor utilización del vehículo privado desde el inicio de la crisis (el consumo de hidrocarburos para automoción ha caído más de un 15% en los últimos cinco años). El accidente CICOS, sin daños personales, está estrechamente ligado a la densidad del tráfico y, por tanto, es típico de la conducción urbana, siendo en las ciudades más fácil la sustitución del coche por medios de transporte colectivos</abstract>
