Publication: Zurich : Swiss Re, cop. 2014Notes: Sumario: Livestock production in Latin America and the Caribbean represents an important segment for the global livestock market, especially in relation to the production of dairy and beef products. The growth in this activity is evidenced by the importance of the region in the current scenario - it's the top beef exporter in the world. According to sector studies, this growth trend should be sustained over the coming years. Despite the positive outlook, the activity in question is shaped by various factors, such as climate change, demand for bio-energy, price volatility, the global financial crisis, and changes in development policies, among others.
