The third such event took place in Brussels, and included European Parliamentarians, representatives of the European Commission and Council of Europe, leaders of age and disability interest NGOs and insurance executives. There was general agreement from all sides on the vital function exercised by the private insurance industry, the need to differentiate very different risks and the importance of promoting inclusion as much as possible. EU officials and NGOs called for more transparency in the risk assessment process and greater availability and affordability of insurance products</abstract>
