<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar y analizar la especialización de la estructura de exportación del Nordeste del Brasil en 2003-2014, tras la expansión del comercio internacional con los países del grupo BRICS (Brasil, Federación de Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica). Para el cálculo de los indicadores se utilizaron las bases de datos Aliceweb y Trademap. Los indicadores estimados fueron: coeficiente de especialización, ventaja comparativa revelada, contribución a la balanza comercial y grado de comercio intraindustrial. El comercio con los países del BRICS condujo a una reorganización de las exportaciones por grupos de especialización, ratificando una tendencia histórica de ventajas comparativas en la exportación de artículos de las siguientes categorías: alimentos, tabaco y bebidas; papel y celulosa; productos químicos; plásticos y caucho; textiles; calzado y cuero. Los países BRICS no promovieron la diversificación ni el incremento del contenido tecnológico de la estructura de exportaciones del Nordeste.</abstract>
