<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Since 2002, Brand Finance has tracked the global value of assets, both tangible and intangible. In our 2019 global Intangible Finance Tracker (GIFT) report, Brand Finance highlighted that total business value grew at just 2% year -on-year, the lowest rate of growth since 2011. At the time, investor confidence was dampened due to concerns over political and economic factors such as Brexit, trade tensions between the US and China and an economic contraction in Germany. 12 months on, these concerns remain, but are dwarfed by the challenges faced due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.</abstract>
