<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Esta edición de Perspectivas del Comercio Internacional de América Latina y el Caribe corresponde a 2022 y tiene tres capítulos. En el capítulo I se examina la evolución reciente del comercio mundial y regional en un contexto marcado por el conflicto entre la Federación de Rusia y Ucrania, tasas de inflación históricamente elevadas, la ralentización de la economía mundial, tensiones geopolíticas y las dificultades que enfrenta China para contener la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19). En el capítulo II se presenta un panorama del comercio exterior de manufacturas de la región durante las últimas tres décadas, con un énfasis particular en su desempeño exportador. Se concluye que, en su conjunto, América Latina y el Caribe presenta un desempeño poco dinámico, si bien algunos países (principalmente México) constituyen excepciones a dicho patrón. La región solo es un actor relevante a nivel mundial en las industrias automotriz y de alimentos, bebidas y tabaco, y en ambas su capacidad exportadora se encuentra concentrada en las economías de mayor tamaño. En el capítulo III se analizan las profundas disrupciones observadas en las cadenas mundiales de suministro por vía marítima desde el inicio de la pandemia, que se han visto agravadas por el conflicto entre la Federación de Rusia y Ucrania. </abstract>
