Publication: Brussels : Transport and Environment, 2023Physical description: 37 p.Notes: Sumario: The regulation on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR) obliges member states to ensure the deployment of recharging pools dedi cated to heavy-duty vehicles along the TEN-T core network and specifies maximum distances between and minimum capacities for these recharging pools for the target years 2025, 2027 and 2030. The targets as have been challenged by several member states. Raised questions address the suitability of existing electricity (distribution) networks to support the intended development, required actions to make network con nections available and the periods required for these changes. The objective of this assessment is to evaluate the technical feasibility of the charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles in the perspective of the AFIR targets for a selected subset of EU member states.
