Title: Operating performance, retro cost drive asian reinsurer strategies : an overview for those working with and in one of the world's most interesting and vital industries
Publication: Oldwick : AM Best, 2023Physical description: 10 p.Series: (Market Segment Report)Notes: Sumario: Underwriting losses and poor investment returns dragged the large Asian reinsurers´2022 operating performance. The decline in large Asian reinsurers´shareholders´equity is much smaller than that of European reinsurers due to monetary easing in some Asian countries. A decrease in retro capacity surpressed Asian reinsurers´capacity offering. A lack of aggregate excess-of-loss retrocession capacity availability may result in higher underwriting volatility for reinsurers. Reinsurers´appetite for catastrophe-exposed property business in South and Southeast Asia has diminished, given the heightened catastrophe activity in the region in recent years. Reinsurers demonstrated increased pricing discipline and a willingness to walk away from unprofitable programmes, which led to meaningful rate increases.Materia / lugar / evento: Mercado de reaseguros Información financiera Seguro de daños patrimoniales Aspectos económicos Perspectivas del seguro Asia Otros autores: A.M.
