<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En los últimos años, el desarrollo y prestaciones de los materiales intumescentes han alcanzado un alto nivel. Junto a las más conocidas pinturas y recubrimientos para madera y acero, una gran variedad de nuevos productos, como pastas, tableros o vidrios, han aparecido para ayudar a resolver muchos problemas relacionados con la prevención de incendios. La construcción de sellamientos, pasos de cables y de tubos, puertas y ventanas cortafuegos, incluso en lugares con alto riesgo de incendio, puede ser, con estos materiales, una tarea más fácil para los diseñadores a condición de hacer un uso más correcto de los mismos</abstract>
