<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Experimentation conduite sur un groupe de 40 rats Wistar comparé à deux lots témoins, par injection intrapleurale, sur une période de trente mois. La méthode mise au point pour obtenir des fibres de chrysotile injectables < 5um est rappelée. Les analyses ont porté sur l'évolution pondérale, l'examen minéralogique des fibres récupérées, la mortalité et l'examen histologique des viscères. Leurs résultats mettent en évidnece l'apparition de mésothéliomes pleuraux avec une fréquence élevée chex les sujets traités. Les auteurs se trouvent confortés dans leur hypothèse selon laquelle un grand nombre de fibres courtes, douées d'un pouvoir cancérogène peu élevé, peut provoquer des tumeurs au même titre que les fibres longues en quantité moindre</abstract>
