<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Shift-average radon and thoron daughter working levels have been measured at 11 collieries in the U.K. Levels were low (generally less than 20 milli-working levels) compared with those typical of uranium mines. The possible influences of various factors on the level of activity were examined, but a correlation was found only with ventilation distances from pit bottom to the sampling site</abstract>
