Title: Barium in welding fume / P.R.M. Dare... [et al.]
Notes: Sumario: Electrodes containing barium compounds as fluxes for use in arc welding have been examined. Fume from a cored-wire electrode with barium fluoride flux was found to contain more than 16% barium, which was substantially soluble in water or dilute acid. Exposure of a group of welders to such fume resulted on elevated barium urinary levels. Fume from stick electrodes having barium carbonate in their fluxes contained about 15-30% barium in readily soluble form. Recommendations are made concerning the control of occupational exposure of welders to bariumRelated records: En: The Annals of occupational hygiene. - Oxford [etc.]. - nº 4, 1984 ; p. 445-448Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Contaminantes químicos Humos tóxicos Bario Control de la contaminación Soldadura eléctrica Soldadura por arco Análisis clínicos Otros autores: Dare, P.R.M.
