<abstract displayLabel="Summary">This paper reports previously unpublished results of air sampling surveys of 40 operating theatres made by the Health and Safety Executive between 1980 and 1984 using diffusive samplers. A statistical analysis is made of the differences in mean exposures experienced by staff in theatres using local control (anaesthetic gas scavenging) and those without this facility. Comparisson are also made between different groups of workers and different methods of scavenging</abstract>
