Audiometry provides the basic data needed for an on-going hearing conservation program. Establishing a hearing profile for each employee not only assists in job placement, it suggests what monitoring and protection will be needed. The basic tools for a hearing testing program are the audiometer, the audiometer test room and a competent audiometric technician, both of them are reported in this paper
