<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Biomechanical calculations of loads on the locomotor system in lifting tasks are often based on static models. Several investigators have shown, though, that in a dynamic act like lifting, inertial effects are not generally negligible. The study showed that the load on knee, hip and L5/S1 joints could be determined with good accuracy without having to calculate the inertial effects on individual segments</abstract>
